The fine Convicts alluded to were conveyed from Hongkong in the hired transport to England "Marchioness of Guidonderry".

The Militia Officer in charge was Lieut. Clyke, 31st Regiment - the medical officer was Staff Assist. Surgeon Gascoigne - the vessel was inspected by me on the 2nd of April 1860, having on board 122 Militia Invalids, 24 Dragoon Invalids, and five Convicts in charge of a guard of Royal Marines.
